August 7 2018: Our PI, Aaron Buss, was awarded a 5-year, $1.1 million R01 grant from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). This grant will fund research examining how learning shapes children's brain development and ability to regulate their behavior and follow rules.
One of our third year PhD students, Kaleb Kinder, recently received the Thomas Fellowship in the amount of $10,000 for the project entitled: “Using fMRI to Explore the Effect of Action on Memory”. With this research fellowship funded through the University of Tennessee, Kaleb aims to assess the function of motor-related cortical activation in memory formation. Kaleb hopes this work will provide a closer understanding of memory networks, and in turn, insight into the processes that underlie goal-directed behavior and several psychological disorders.
